  GUIDED CATFISH FISHING HOLIDAYS

A CATFISH HEAVAN WHERE BIG
FISH DREAMS BECOME A REALITY!

Our packages include all the equipment you need to
experience the mighty river Ebro and capture its residents.

THE WELLS CATFISH
The Wells catfish is the ultimate freshwater predator
capable of growing to sizes in excess of 200lb.

A prime scavenger that eats almost anything from small
carp to ducklings, catfish feed with ferocious power from
the bottom to the surface and like all predators inhabit
weed beds, slacks, snags and deep holes.

Their muscular tail injects the speed and extreme power
used for hunting and makes the Wells catfish the ultimate
fighting machine for specimen anglers around the world.

‘PELLET STYLE’ CATFISH FISHING

If your idea of a fishing paradise is screaming buzzers,
whizzing bait runners and monster catfish, then you've
come to the right place.

Our guided 'pellet style' catfish fishing trips have resulted
in our customers experiencing some belting takes, fantastic
surging runs and manic multiple catfish catches with arm
aching results. Takes, double and treble takes have been
frequent on many recent CATQUEST holidays.

This style of catfish fishing can also result in some large
summer carp captures with once again, big hits possible.

THE ULTIMATE CATFISH BAIT
At EBROCAT QUEST we fish from the bank with each angler
fishing with 2 rods (Ebro limit per person), ledgered with
double hair rigged pellets and a 10oz bolt rig.

Baits are usually positioned at distances of over 200 yards,
so for accurate baiting, your guide will take your baits out by
boat and top up your swim with more pellets when needed.

The river Ebro catfish have taken a real liking to our
Halibut pellets and a shoal of 100lb plus catfish can consume
massive quantities in very short periods of time.

For best results we recommend you use a minimum of
one 25kg sack of pellet per day, shared between 2 anglers.
This quantity really gets both the cats and carp going mental.

CATFISH FISHING SESSIONS
Our holiday packages are based on 8 hrs fishing per
day from 10am to 6pm with each angler using 2 rods
(Ebro limit per person).

Generally, catfish will feed on pellet at any time but we
will advise you upon arrival what times have been most
productive.

ANGLING GROUPS
All our holiday packages are best suited to a maximum
of 4 anglers. However, If you require arrangements
for larger parties this can be accommodated with due
notice.
Group bookings smaller than 4 anglers may be
paired with another groups of anglers, max 4 people
per trip.

CATCH RATE
The river Ebro has a very large stock of wild catfish
with the average fish weighing in the region of
60lb-70lb. It is also known for its numerous larger
residents with approximately 1 in 10 catfish over 100lb.

Regarding the action, fishing can be unpredictable, but a
catfish fishing session should result in an average of 1-5
catfish takes per angler, with a good fishing session
producing up to 10 takes, and exceptional fishing sessions
have been known to produce 20 takes per angler.

As an example, in 5 days angling, Lee Munslow from
Worcester landed 122 catfish totaling 3659lb. The catch
included 44 over 100lb. With double and treble takes
occurring frequently, it just went absolutely mental!!!

Anglers also have a good chance of catching carp with
fish of over 50lb being caught to date from this stretch.

THE CATSFISH SEASON
Catfish and carp can be caught from the Upper Lake
all year round but the biggest hits are generally made
from March to June during the spawning period and
September to November during the pre-winter feast.

HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON AND EXTREMLY TIGHT LINES!!!
